I used a small clay pot with potting soil and placed the seed end of the pencil stub directly into the pot. Easy as that.

So easy in fact, I wasn’t sure I did it right. Skeptical that I would would yield any coriander from this project, I watered it along with the other deck plants and didn’t give it too much thought.

Imagine my delight to see a small sprout appear a week later!
