Why You Should Visit the Fantasy of Lights

Does your family love peeping festive holiday lights? Would they like to see a brightly lit snowman in the sand? How about a carousel, sailboat or dinosaur? Who wouldn’t want to see a jet skiing Santa jump a wave? (Check it out below)

Those are just a few of the illuminated displays you will find during your drive through the Fantasy of Lights in New Haven, CT.

The Fantasy of Lights display is presented by Goodwill of Southern New England. The mile long drive through Lighthouse Point Park will light up your holiday season with over 100,000 led bulbs and dozens of animated displays.

Leave The House Wearing Your Pajamas

Put on your coziest pajamas and pack a thermos of hot chocolate if you’d like. After all, you will be in the comfort of your own car. Tune in to the designated radio station to hear holiday music and cheer while driving through the park . This year’s music is provided by the New Haven Symphony Orchestra. It is sure to put you in the holiday spirit.

The Fantasy of Lights is now open and runs until December 31st. The hours of operation are evenings Sun through Thur 5-9 and Sat/ Sun 5-10. The cost is $10 per passenger car, however be sure to purchase the special 3-D glasses for the kids at a minimal extra cost ($2 per pair) Trust me, it is worth it!

Ticket proceeds help support Goodwill of Southern New England’s mission to provide educational, employment and social opportunities for people with disabilities. Therefore, you can enjoy this wonderful holiday event while also supporting a great cause.

  2. I agree what a great tradition to start or upkeep, one of the traditions we probably experienced ourselves as kids, being able to now carry on with our own children and just in time for Thanksgiving! But thank you for the suggestion- you are so right- must bring hot chocolate for this trip!
