Otter Lake. Three people down by the water.

Otter Lake Camp Resort is a fun-filled, family oriented, pet friendly, year round campground offering activities for the outdoor enthusiast during all four seasons. Of the many wonderful things this campground offers, the indoor pool and 2 hot tubs are key for those rainy wash out days (which we had when we visited) and during the colder seasons. During the nice weather months, you can enjoy an outdoor pool, splash pad, heated children’s pool, beautiful lake for fishing and swimming, firetruck rides, outdoor sports and so much more!

When Mother’s Day weekend came around, my wish was to go camping. My family knows it is my favorite thing to do. Unfortunately, Mother Nature didn’t get the memo, and gave us a pretty terrible forecast. Abysmal actually. Cold, dreary, and torrential downpours. Many campers cancelled their plans for that weekend, but I thought immediately of Otter Lake Resort. The indoor pool and hot tub would give us the opportunity to go swimming and relax in the hot tub even in the bad weather.

I never really mind camping in some rain, but the forecast for that Sunday was a total and complete washout. However, adventure comes in all forms, and when camping calls, we must go.

To our pleasant surprise, Saturday turned out to be a beautiful day. We pulled into our waterfront campsite, and I was immediately so grateful we took the chance to camp that weekend. It was absolutely stunning.

We had our own private path that led down to the lake. Other sites had a path that lead to their own dock. We did not have a dock, but we loved our little waterfront alcove . The bushes provided privacy between the campsites and we could set up chairs at the waters edge and watch the paddle boats go by. The kids enjoyed walking to and from the water’s edge to fish or skim rocks. I was able to kick back and relax and watch my family enjoy the outdoors.

The kids were thrilled to catch several fish, which were released back into the lake.

Each campsite has a fire pit, picnic table, and three way hookups. Wifi and Cable are also available. If you prefer to tent camp, there are plenty of tent sites available as well. We enjoyed our Saturday night relaxing by the fire. The view of the lake as the sun went down was beautiful.

The next morning we woke up to cold and dreary conditions, but it did not stop us. We were a short walk to the indoor pool and hot tub building. We put our hoods on and made the short trek in the pouring rain. Even in the bad weather, the lake looked beautiful. I imagined how amazing it will be in the summer months when we return.

Once we entered the pool building it was warm and tropical, as if we had been transported to a bright and sunny Caribbean vacation. The pool was warm and nicely maintained. My favorite part of course was the hot tub. It was everything I could have wanted for my Mother’s Day, thanks to the amazing amenities at Otter Lake Resort.

There is so much to do here for families. Kids can ride their bikes on the paved roads throughout the property and have their choice of four different playgrounds. There are activities, games, crafts, and live entertainment during the summer months.

The campground is clean and well taken care of. Other amenities include: 4 Heated Bathhouses, 2 Racquetball Courts, 4 Tennis Courts, Sports Field, Basketball Court, Shuffleboard Court, Horseshoes, Game Room, Canoe and Paddle boat Rentals, and so much more.

Close by to the Delaware State Forest and the Delaware Water Gap Recreation area, the outdoor activities are endless. You can spend your days fishing, hiking, fishing, boating, swimming and horseback riding. In the Fall and Winter months, enjoy foliage viewing, cross country skiing and snowmobiling.

We had a wonderful stay and we will be sure to return!

  1. The best of both worlds, the campsite looks incredible and add some resort amenities- sign me up! What a perfect way to spend Mother’s Day!

  2. We love Otter Lake, this year is our 4th season going there along with 3 other families who introduced us to the place. We enjoy both the Spring & Fall gas savers. It’s a great place with a great staff and lots to do. Glad you enjoyed it as much as we do. As the wife says, “It’s our happy place.”

    1. Hi Jeff! I can see why your wife calls it your happy place! We are so looking forward to going back this Summer. While we were there our camping neighbors told us about the gas saver option. I think that is such a great idea! Top notch campground for sure. Maybe we will run into you there one day!
