Shark themed treats. Picture shows blue jello cups, shark fin cupcakes, blue lemonade, and popcorn mix.

Shark Week is a big deal in our family. I have 2 shark obsessed kids, and their best buddy is equally as crazy about all things ocean.

So this year to celebrate the kick-off, my very talented best friend Debby had us over for outdoor viewing and shark-themed snacks.

Here is what she put together to create a festive shark themed gathering. These ideas are perfect to celebrate shark week, or a shark themed birthday party!

Shark Attack Cupcakes

Blue topped cupcakes with shark fins

These cupcakes look adorable from the outside, but it is what is inside that is the real surprise. Keeping in line with the shark attack theme, the inside is filled with red strawberry filling. The kids sure got a kick out of that.

Gummy Shark Sea Foam Jello Cups

Easy to make and super fun for the kids to eat, these jello cups are sure to be a hit.

Deb’s Ocean Water Lavender Lemonade

Serve in ocean themed cups with shark straws to make this beverage even more festive. I love that these straws are paper to help save our oceans from plastics. You can find all of your shark themed items on Amazon.

Here is how to make Deb’s Ocean Water Lavender Lemonade:

5 lemons fresh squeezed
1/2 cup sugar
Teaspoon honey
4-5 fresh cut lavender sprigs bundled
3-4 drops blue food coloring

Mix all ingredients (except lavender) in clear glass pitcher and add water (leaving enough room for ice.) Add lavender and let infuse in refrigerator at least 6 hours, longer is fine. Remove lavender and add ice when ready to serve!

If you do not have lavender on hand or are short on time, simply skip that step!

Use any cute popcorn container, fill with popcorn, blue gourmet jelly beans and top with Swedish fish!

Shark Week only comes once a year. Why not make it extra special for the shark lover in your life!
